Undergraduate Medicine at Bond University
Bond University offers direct entry from Year 12 into its Bachelor of Medical Studies and Doctor of Medicine. A previous degree is not required for this standard undergraduate pathway.
Standard direct entry is open to Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, Australian Humanitarian Visa holders and New Zealand citizens. New Zealand permanent residence alone does not qualify for this route. Eligible international applicants can consider the separate lateral-entry pathway described below.

Bond Medicine selection begins with academic assessment. Selected applicants progress to online psychometric testing, and psychometric results determine eligibility for an interview. Interviews are conducted online.
Bond Lateral Entry Interview 2026
Bond University’s 2026 lateral-entry interviews for the 2027 Medical Program intake use SAMMI® (Standardised Asynchronous Multi Mini Interview), an online format in which applicants record responses to pre-recorded questions using a webcam and microphone. Each response is assessed separately, potentially by a different assessor, with performance considered across the interview as a whole. Applicants can participate remotely without travelling to campus.
Although this format may be unfamiliar to some applicants, asynchronous video interviews are also used by other universities. NIE’s interview coaches are experienced in preparing applicants for recorded-response interviews, helping candidates organise their answers, communicate clearly on camera and practise responding independently without live interviewer prompts.

How Bond Medicine Selection Works
1. Academic Assessment
QTAC assesses the applicant's academic record. Bond then determines which applicants progress to psychometric testing.
2. Psychometric Testing
Selected applicants complete supervised online psychometric testing. Results determine eligibility for interview.
3. Medical Interview
Selected applicants attend an online interview assessing general suitability for medicine and readiness for a demanding medical program.
4. Offer
Successful applicants may receive an offer following completion of the selection process.
Bond Medicine Interview Invitations and Dates for 2027 Entry
Standard entry and Year 2 lateral entry use different interview schedules. The lateral entry interview for the 2027 intake is in October 2026; standard-entry interviews are scheduled for March 2027.

Previous University Study
Applicants who have started university but have not completed a bachelor's degree may still apply as undergraduate applicants. Bond uses different assessment methods depending on how much full-time-equivalent tertiary study has been completed.

Unless Bond states otherwise, qualifications used for academic assessment generally need to have been undertaken within the nine years immediately preceding the application closing date.
Bond Medicine Psychometric Testing
Applicants selected after academic assessment may be invited to complete psychometric testing online under supervised examination conditions.
Bond currently states that the testing includes an emotional intelligence assessment and a personality assessment. Results from the current versions of the tests are valid for 24 months. Bond does not allow applicants to elect to re-sit while a valid current result is available.
Bond states that no specific preparation is required and applicants should respond honestly. NIE Careers provides independent support with understanding the selection process, assessment conditions and technical readiness. Bond does not endorse commercial preparation providers.
Bond Psychometric Selection Support
Bond Medicine Interview: Standard Entry
Applicants with competitive psychometric results may be invited to the Bond Medicine interview. Bond's current information states that interviews are conducted online only and assess general suitability to medicine and preparedness for a demanding medical course.
For standard entry in 2027, online interviews are scheduled for 9–12 March 2027. Bond's dates page advises allowing approximately two hours for the process; its general FAQ gives approximately 90 minutes including registration and debriefing. Follow your invitation. These timings do not describe the lateral entry SAMMI interview.
Bond Medicine Interview Information
Year 2 Lateral Entry to Bond Medicine
Bond provides a limited Year 2 lateral-entry pathway for eligible graduates of selected Bond University programs.
Current eligible pathways include:
- Bachelor of Biomedical Science – Pre-Health Professional major
- Doctor of Physiotherapy
- Master of Nutrition and Dietetic Practice
- Master of Occupational Therapy
- Master of Healthcare Innovations, subject to Bond's specified prior Biomedical Science requirements
Applicants need a minimum Bond GPA of 3.00/4.00 in the eligible qualification and must meet the Medical Program prerequisite requirements. Healthcare Innovations applicants must meet the specified Biomedical Science requirements and GPA conditions for both degrees. GAMSAT is not required.
Bond states that this lateral-entry pathway is currently the only pathway into the Medical Program available to eligible international students. Places are limited and dependent on availability.
The stages are academic assessment, psychometric testing and interview. Bond's current FAQ states that final lateral-entry offers are determined by interview results only, once applicants have passed the earlier stages and met any offer conditions.
Bond Lateral Entry Interview Format: Online SAMMI
The invitation reviewed by NIE for the 2027 lateral-entry intake specifies an online SAMMI interview on Friday, 23 October 2026. SAMMI stands for Standardised Asynchronous Multi Mini Interview. Applicants answer pre-recorded questions and record their responses using a webcam and microphone.

Bond's public lateral-entry timetable refers to the Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine, while the applicant invitation specifies online SAMMI delivery. Follow the delivery instructions in your own invitation rather than arranging campus attendance from the timetable wording alone.

Does Bond medicine require UCAT ANZ, and what ATAR is competitive?
Bond does not use UCAT ANZ for its Medical Program. Its published competitiveness guidance is approximately ATAR 96+ or IB 38+ for undergraduate psychometric-test selection. The actual academic cut-off changes with the applicant pool, and meeting this guidance does not guarantee progression.
