What is the 'UCAT Verbal Reasoning Subtest'?
The UCAT's Verbal Reasoning section is one of the toughest challenges you’ll face, requiring you to quickly scan passages, identify key information, and answer questions fast. But don’t worry - this is where our expert-led webinar can make all the difference.
Unlike anything you have encountered in your academic studies, the UCAT Verbal Reasoning subtest asks you to read complex passages (sometimes on topics you have never studied) and answer 44 questions in just 22 minutes. You will need more than just reading comprehension skills; you will need razor-sharp focus, speed-reading techniques, and time-saving strategies to succeed.
Why is UCAT Verbal Reasoning so Speed-Driven?
Much like a doctor who must quickly sift through a patient's file and pinpoint crucial details under pressure, you will need to do the same during this section of the UCAT. The goal is not to memorise or analyse every word - it is about finding relevant information quickly, staying focused, and drawing conclusions without being sidetracked by irrelevant details.
Why YOU need this Webinar
Mastering Verbal reasoning skills for UCAT is essential, and with the right guidance, you can learn to apply the newly learned techniques efficiently to improve your score.
The key here is practice and pace. UCAT Verbal Reasoning practice questions are a great starting point for the development and understanding of this construct. The different types of questions can be identified as:
UCAT Verbal Reasoning questions
- True / False / Can’t tell
- Inference questions
- Multiple choice = most likely, least likely, agree, disagree, author questions, and must be true statements.
All the above UCAT Verbal Reasoning question types require some understanding of the skills required to find information quickly from unseen texts without using any prior knowledge. The advantages of a crash course in Verbal Reasoning Skills, which targets areas of reading for responses, identifying keywords, difficult language, and loaded questioning can be beneficial in using your time effectively and therefore optimising your results.
