UCAT ANZ 2026 Key Dates
Students considering a career in medicine or dentistry during Year 12 will need to sit a compulsory entry exam known as the UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) before they can apply for placements at most universities in Australia.
The first time a candidate is eligible to sit the UCAT is during their final year of school — Year 12 in Australia or Year 13 in New Zealand. Candidates can repeat the UCAT yearly.
Candidates taking the UCAT ANZ in 2026 for entry to universities in Australia and New Zealand in 2027 should note these key dates.

Who is eligible to sit the UCAT?
The UCAT ANZ test is available to candidates undertaking or who have completed the final year of secondary schooling. Candidates registering for UCAT ANZ 2026 should have completed, or plan to complete, Year 12 in Australia or Year 13 in New Zealand.
Candidates who have commenced or completed an undergraduate degree may also be eligible, however not all universities offer places for non-school leavers. Applicants should check individual university requirements.
