These statements give applicants an opportunity to provide information about their motivation, relevant experiences, interest in regional and rural health and other factors relevant to their application. JCU currently allows applicants to prepare responses of up to **300 words for each applicant-statement section**. Applicants should always check the current JCU Portal instructions before submitting because application requirements can change. The webinar provides guidance on: - choosing appropriate referees; - understanding what makes a useful letter of support; - approaching referees early; - providing referees with relevant background information; - coordinating supporting documents; - ensuring letters meet JCU submission requirements; and - avoiding common mistakes. The Medicine component of this webinar therefore focuses on developing the communication, reasoning and reflection skills relevant to medical interview preparation.
