UCAT ANZ 2026 score guidance

# UCAT ANZ 2026 Score and Percentile Calculator

Estimate how your UCAT ANZ practice scores may compare with the 2025 candidate distribution and a provisional 2026 trend model.

**Important:** this calculator provides an educational estimate only. It cannot predict the official 2026 percentile distribution, university interview cut-offs or the UCAT and ATAR combinations universities may use.

## UCAT ANZ 2026 Score and Percentile Estimator

Enter your scaled Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making and Quantitative Reasoning scores.

**Enter scaled scores from 300 to 900.** UCAT ANZ does not publish a fixed conversion from the number of correct answers to scaled scores.

How is the estimate calculated?The 2025 estimate uses published decile thresholds and detailed upper-percentile calibration:

2310 = 90th; 2320 = 91st; 2340 = 92nd; 2360 = 93rd; 2370 = 94th; 2390 = 95th; 2410 = 96th; 2440 = 97th; 2470 = 98th; and 2520 = 99th percentile.

The provisional 2026 model applies a modest upward score adjustment because comparable average UCAT performance has generally increased in recent years. This trend may not continue in 2026.

**Calculator disclaimer:** this tool is not an official UCAT ANZ calculator and does not predict admission, interview selection or university cut-off scores.

## What does the UCAT ANZ 2026 calculator estimate?

The calculator adds your scaled Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making and Quantitative Reasoning scores to produce a cognitive total out of 2700. It then estimates where that total may sit within the UCAT ANZ percentile distribution.

The historical comparison is based primarily on the 2025 UCAT ANZ results. Abstract Reasoning was removed in 2025, meaning the total cognitive score is now based on the same three sections used by this calculator.

Recent comparable UCAT means have generally increased. The provisional 2026 model therefore allows for a modest upward movement in score thresholds. This is a modelling assumption only, not a prediction that the same pattern will definitely occur.

## Why the 2026 percentile is only an estimate

Previous score patterns are useful, but they cannot determine the final 2026 distribution. The candidate cohort changes every year, and results may be influenced by candidate performance, preparation, test construction and statistical scaling.

**Use the result as a guide rather than a guarantee.** A score estimated at the 90th, 95th or 99th percentile may correspond to a different official percentile once the 2026 testing cycle has concluded.

The calculator displays a projected range because showing one exact future percentile would suggest a level of certainty that is not currently possible.

## A strong UCAT result does not guarantee an interview

Medical and dental schools use UCAT ANZ in different ways. Universities may also consider ATAR, adjusted academic results, rural eligibility, applicant category and other selection criteria.

The exact UCAT and ATAR combinations required for interview offers are not known in advance. Effective thresholds can depend on the strength of the current applicant pool, the number of interview places and each university's selection method.

- Do not treat a previous UCAT cut-off as a guaranteed future threshold.
- Check current requirements for every university you intend to apply to.
- Consider your UCAT result together with your ATAR or academic selection rank.
- Different applicant categories may be assessed or ranked differently.

## Should you begin interview preparation before receiving an offer?

Students who feel reasonably confident about their UCAT performance should consider beginning medical interview preparation early rather than waiting for an invitation.

Interview offers may be followed by a short preparation period. Waiting can leave students trying to develop communication skills, ethical reasoning and MMI techniques while also managing school, examinations and university applications.

### Starting early can help students:

- understand MMI and panel interview formats;
- develop authentic answers about their motivation for medicine;
- improve ethical reasoning and communication;
- practise unfamiliar scenarios under timed conditions;
- identify weak areas while there is still time to improve; and
- avoid rushed preparation after an interview invitation arrives.
