The first time a candidate is eligible to sit the UCAT is during their final year of school — Year 12 in Australia or Year 13 in New Zealand. Candidates can repeat the UCAT yearly. The UCAT ANZ test is available to candidates undertaking or who have completed the final year of secondary schooling. Candidates registering for UCAT ANZ 2026 should have completed, or plan to complete, Year 12 in Australia or Year 13 in New Zealand. Candidates who have commenced or completed an undergraduate degree may also be eligible, however not all universities offer places for non-school leavers.
