**Bond University Medicine offers a distinctive pathway into medicine for Australian applicants.** Like medical programs across Australia, entry is highly competitive. However, Bond differs from many undergraduate medical pathways because **UCAT ANZ is not required**. Instead, applicants progress through a staged selection process involving **academic achievement, psychometric testing and a medical interview**.

Bond University offers an accelerated Medical Program comprising the **Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMedSt) and Doctor of Medicine (MD)**. The complete program takes approximately **4 years and 8 months across 14 semesters**. Bond describes this as the **shortest pathway to a Medical Doctorate in Australasia**.

**Bond Medicine at a glance**

- **UCAT ANZ is not required** for standard Bond Medical Program entry.
- Domestic applications are submitted through **QTAC**.
- Bond must be placed as the applicant's **first QTAC preference by the application closing date**.
- Applicants are first assessed on **academic performance**.
- Selected applicants may progress to **online psychometric testing**.
- Competitive psychometric results may lead to a **Bond Medicine interview**.
- The Medical Program is completed in approximately **4 years and 8 months across 14 semesters**.
- Standard domestic entry is available to both undergraduate and graduate applicants.

## How Does Bond University Medicine Selection Work?

Bond University uses a staged admission process for its Medical Program. Applicants are first assessed academically. Selected applicants then progress to psychometric testing, and applicants with competitive psychometric results may be invited to interview.

### Stage 1: Academic Assessment

Academic assessment is undertaken through the applicant's QTAC application. Applicants need a sufficiently competitive academic result to progress.

### Stage 2: Psychometric Testing

Selected applicants complete online psychometric testing. Results determine eligibility to progress to interview.

### Stage 3: Medical Interview

Applicants with competitive psychometric results may receive an invitation to an online Bond Medicine interview.

### Stage 4: Offer

Successful applicants may receive an offer following completion of the selection process.

## Does Bond Medicine Require UCAT?

**No. Bond University does not use UCAT ANZ for admission to the Bachelor of Medical Studies.**

This makes Bond particularly relevant to students considering medical-entry pathways that do not rely on UCAT performance. However, Bond Medicine remains highly competitive, and applicants still need to perform strongly across the academic assessment, psychometric testing and interview stages.

## Bond Medicine Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Applicants

Bond defines an **undergraduate applicant** as an applicant who has completed a High School Senior Certificate equivalent to Queensland Year 12, with or without incomplete tertiary studies.

Applicants who have already started university but have not completed a bachelor's degree may therefore still be assessed as undergraduate applicants.

### What ATAR is needed for Bond Medicine?

Bond does not publish a guaranteed future ATAR cut-off because the academic threshold depends on the quality of applications received in each admission round.

Based on Bond University's current entry-assessment information, an undergraduate applicant would generally need approximately **ATAR 96+, IB Diploma 38+ or an equivalent competitive academic rank** to be competitive for psychometric-test selection.

Bond's FAQ reports that the undergraduate academic cut-off for the **2025 intake was 96.75**. This historical figure should not be treated as a guaranteed cut-off for 2027 because the required score can change with the applicant pool.

### Can adjustment factors or bonus points increase my Bond Medicine ATAR?

**No.** Bond University states that education adjustment factors and bonus points cannot be used to increase an applicant's academic rank for the Medical Program.

## Bond Medicine Entry Requirements for Graduate Applicants

Bond defines a **graduate applicant** as an applicant who has completed a bachelor's degree.

Bond's current entry-assessment information indicates that graduate applicants generally need a **cumulative GPA greater than 6.0 on a seven-point scale** from a recognised tertiary program to be competitive for psychometric-test selection.

Bond also states that a minimum GPA of at least **6.0 on a seven-point scale over one year of full-time-equivalent study** in a recognised program is required to be considered. Because demand is very high, applicants achieving only the minimum GPA may be unlikely to progress.

Graduate applicants from non-science or non-health backgrounds can apply, provided they meet the Medical Program entry requirements and prerequisites.

## Bond Medicine Subject Prerequisites

The principal prerequisite for direct entry to Bond Medicine is English. Bond currently accepts **English, English as an Additional Language, Literature, or English & Literature Extension** at the required Queensland senior-secondary standard, together with approved interstate and other equivalents.

Applicants must provide documentary evidence that they satisfy the prerequisite requirements to QTAC by the relevant application closing date.

## How Previous University Study Can Affect Bond Medicine Entry

Bond University uses different academic assessment methods depending on the amount of tertiary study an undergraduate applicant has completed.

| Tertiary Study Completed | How Academic Performance Is Assessed |
|---|---|
| **Less than 1 year FTE** | Year 12 results. |
| **1 year to less than 1.5 years FTE** | 50% Year 12 results and 50% GPA from the incomplete undergraduate program. |
| **1.5 years FTE or more** | GPA from the incomplete undergraduate program. |

**Qualification recency is also important.** Unless Bond states otherwise, qualifications used for academic assessment generally need to have been undertaken within the **nine years immediately preceding the application closing date**.

## Bond University Psychometric Test for Medicine

The **Bond University psychometric test** forms the second stage of the Medical Program selection process. Applicants are invited to psychometric testing based on their academic achievement, and the psychometric results determine eligibility to progress to interview.

Bond University states that psychometric testing is completed **fully online under supervised examination conditions**.

### What does the Bond Medicine psychometric test include?

Bond currently requires candidates to complete two assessments in sequence during one sitting:

- an **emotional intelligence test**; and
- a **personality test**.

Together, the two assessments take approximately **90 minutes**, with a maximum of **two hours** to complete both tests. Applicants should allow additional time for identity, equipment and connection checks.

### Does Bond recommend preparing for the psychometric test?

Bond University states that **no specific preparation is required** for psychometric testing and recommends that applicants respond honestly, be well-rested and complete the assessment free from distractions.

The assessment is supervised by a proctor via webcam, so applicants should also make sure their computer, internet connection and testing environment meet the requirements provided in their invitation.

### How long are Bond psychometric results valid?

Applicants who have completed the **current versions** of the required psychometric assessments have results that are valid for **24 months**.

Applicants who completed psychometric testing before October 2025 are required to complete the updated testing because those earlier results are no longer valid. Bond also states that applicants cannot elect to re-sit the assessment while a valid current result is available.

### Understanding the Bond Medicine Psychometric Stage

Bond University states that no specific preparation is required for its psychometric assessments and applicants should answer honestly. NIE Careers' Bond Medicine support focuses on helping students understand the broader selection process, assessment conditions, technical readiness and what to expect as they progress through Bond's admissions stages.

## Bond University Medicine Interview

Applicants with competitive psychometric results may progress to the Medical Program interview. For the 2027 admission cycle, interviews are scheduled to be conducted **online from 9 to 12 March 2027**.

Bond describes the interview as evaluating an applicant's **general suitability to medicine and preparedness to undertake a highly demanding course**.

Bond's Medical Program FAQ describes the interview as approximately **90 minutes including registration and debriefing**, while the University's 2027 dates page advises that interviews may take approximately **two hours** to complete. Applicants should therefore allow up to two hours for the overall process.

### How should applicants approach the Bond Medicine interview?

Bond states that applicants will receive relevant information about the interview process if invited and does not endorse external interview-preparation services. Applicants should avoid memorised or artificial responses and focus on communicating authentically and clearly.

### Developing General Medical Interview Skills

NIE Careers' medical interview training focuses on transferable skills such as communication, structured reasoning, self-reflection and responding thoughtfully under interview conditions. It does not rely on access to confidential Bond interview questions or guaranteed predictions of interview content.

[Bond Medicine Interview Information](https://www.nie.edu.au/medical/bond-medicine/bond-medical-interview)

## Queensland and Tweed Applicants

Bond University states that its Medical Program aims to allocate **40% of interview invitations to applicants from Queensland and the Tweed community**.

Bond also states that all candidates are ranked for interview based on their psychometric test results. Applicants from outside Queensland and the Tweed region can therefore still progress through the standard selection process.

## Why Students Consider Bond University Medicine

### No UCAT requirement

Bond University does not use UCAT ANZ for admission to the Bachelor of Medical Studies, providing an alternative pathway for students considering medicine in Australia.

### Shortest Pathway to a Medical Doctorate in Australasia

Bond describes its accelerated Medical Program as the **shortest pathway to a Medical Doctorate in Australasia**. The Bachelor of Medical Studies and Doctor of Medicine are completed in approximately **4 years and 8 months across 14 semesters**.

### Hands-on clinical learning

Bond highlights hands-on clinical skills development, simulation facilities and clinical education environments as key features of its Medical Program.

### Small-group and personalised learning

Bond promotes personalised learning and interaction with clinicians, academics and researchers as part of the Medical Program experience.

### May and September commencements

For the 2027 admission round, Bond lists both **May and September** Medical Program commencements.

## Bond University Medicine Fees, HECS and FEE-HELP

A major consideration for students and families comparing Bond Medicine with other Australian medical pathways is the cost of tuition.

Bond University is an **approved private higher education provider** and identifies **FEE-HELP** as the Commonwealth assistance available to eligible Medical Program students.

### How much does Bond University Medicine cost?

Bond University's current published fee information lists the **2026 Medical Program fee at $33,610 per semester over 14 semesters**.

If the published 2026 semester figure were multiplied across all 14 semesters, the indicative amount would be approximately **$470,540**.

This should **not** be treated as a guaranteed total course price. Bond states that the published figures are average indicative costs, tuition fees are subject to annual change, and students are charged the applicable fee for their year of enrolment.

**Important for 2027 applicants:** the $33,610 semester fee is Bond University's published **2026** figure. Applicants commencing in 2027 should check Bond's updated fee schedule when the 2027 Medical Program fees are published.

### Is Bond Medicine covered by HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP?

Students sometimes refer generally to university fee assistance as “HECS”. For eligible Bond Medicine students, however, Bond University's financial-assistance information identifies **FEE-HELP** as the relevant Commonwealth assistance.

### How much FEE-HELP is available for Bond Medicine?

Bond University's official FEE-HELP information states that in **2026** the HELP loan limit for students in Bond's Medical Program is **$186,544**.

An eligible student with their full HELP balance available may therefore be able to use FEE-HELP towards eligible tuition costs up to their available HELP limit.

Bond states that where tuition fees exceed the HELP loan available, the outstanding amount must be paid directly to the University. Once the available HELP limit is reached, the student pays the relevant remaining tuition directly to Bond.

**Bond Medicine fees and FEE-HELP – using Bond's published 2026 figures**

- 2026 indicative tuition: **$33,610 per semester**
- Program duration: **14 semesters**
- Indicative calculation using the 2026 semester rate: **approximately $470,540**
- 2026 HELP loan limit for Bond Medical Program students: **$186,544**
- FEE-HELP may cover a substantial part of tuition for an eligible student, but **will not cover the entire Medical Program at the published 2026 fee level**.

### What if I have already used HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP?

Bond states that an applicant's available HELP balance can be affected by previous HELP borrowing.

The combined HELP loan limit includes existing FEE-HELP, VET FEE-HELP and VET Student Loans. Bond also states that HECS-HELP borrowed from **1 January 2020 onwards** counts towards the combined HELP loan limit.

### Is the HELP loan limit a lifetime limit?

**No.** Bond University's FEE-HELP information states that repayments made towards accumulated HELP debt can credit the HELP balance and may be re-borrowed in the future, up to the applicable HELP limit.

## Preparing for Bond University Medicine Entry

Bond Medicine provides a distinctive alternative pathway for students considering medicine in Australia. The absence of a UCAT requirement, accelerated 4-year-and-8-month program and staged academic, psychometric and interview selection process make it different from many other Australian medical-entry pathways.

Applicants should prepare early by understanding how their academic background will be assessed, making Bond their first QTAC preference by the required deadline, monitoring the January application dates and being ready for the psychometric and interview stages if selected to progress.

NIE Careers supports students preparing for Australian medical entry, including applicants navigating the Bond University selection process and developing transferable medical interview skills.

## UniSC Medicine Pathway: Quick Facts

UniSC medicine pathway overview
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Undergraduate degree | Bachelor of Medical Science at UniSC. |
| Entry model | Provisional school-leaver pathway to Griffith’s Doctor of Medicine; the UniSC degree itself is not a medical qualification. |
| Duration | Three years at UniSC, followed by four years in Griffith’s MD: seven years in total. |
| Study locations | UniSC Sunshine Coast, followed by Griffith medical training at the Sunshine Coast Health Institute within Sunshine Coast University Hospital. |
| Applications | Domestic applicants apply through QTAC. |
| Places | UniSC publishes a cap of 20 places per year. |
| MD progression | Complete the designated degree with a minimum GPA of 5.5 and meet the applicable progression conditions. |

## Undergraduate Medicine Pathway at the University of the Sunshine Coast

UniSC undergraduate medicine pathway entry requirements focus on academic merit, with optional UCAT ANZ results used to distinguish applicants within the same ATAR band. A provisional place provides a route to Griffith medicine, conditional on successful university study.

### 1. Academic requirements and recommended prior study

- The pathway is for recent school leavers. UniSC accepts completion of Year 12 in the year before entry, or up to one year before application.
- Applicants must not have previously attempted tertiary study at diploma level or above.
- English at Units 3 and 4, grade C, is recommended prior study. This is listed as a recommendation, rather than a compulsory subject prerequisite.
- Applicants must also meet the applicable English language requirements.
- ATAR adjustment factors do not apply. Access UniSC and the Educational Access Scheme do not apply to this program.

### Historical ATAR results: a guide, not a guaranteed cut-off

The figures below describe the 2026 intake. They should not be read as fixed entry requirements or guaranteed offer thresholds for 2027.

Published UniSC ATAR results for the 2026 intake
| Applicant group or offer stage | Unadjusted ATAR reported |
|---|---|
| Initial offer-round threshold | 99.90; not every applicant at this ATAR received an offer. |
| Lowest overall ATAR considered subsequently | 99.85, with UCAT ANZ used as a second-order differentiator. |
| Rural Access Scheme | 99.20: lowest threshold at which an offer was considered. |
| Regional Health Workforce Scheme | 99.30: lowest threshold at which an offer was considered. |

### 2. Optional UCAT ANZ and selection ranking

ATAR is considered first. Where applicants share an ATAR band, UniSC uses the UCAT ANZ Total Score, if available, for further ranking. Applicants without a UCAT result remain eligible but are ranked at the bottom of that band.

This is not a published ATAR–UCAT percentage weighting. An optional UCAT result does not replace the academic requirement or guarantee an offer. UCAT ANZ’s official university list also identifies this pathway as using the test optionally.

### 3. Interview requirements and format

There is no standard-entry MMI or panel interview for the UniSC Bachelor of Medical Science. Consequently, there are no general-entry interview stations, assessed interview qualities or interview weighting to report.

The Indigenous Health Admissions Pathway is different: it includes a culturally sensitive panel interview. Its structure and selection criteria are described under access pathways below.

### UniSC Medical Interview Dates for 2027 Admission

Only applicants using an interview-based access pathway need to follow an interview timetable. The Indigenous pathway guidance gives a general annual sequence, rather than confirmed intake-specific dates.

Interview invitations and interview timing
| Process | Published position |
|---|---|
| Standard admission: interview invitations | Not applicable; standard admission does not include an interview. |
| Standard admission: interview dates | Not applicable. |
| Indigenous pathway: interview invitations | General guidance describes identification and invitation of eligible undergraduate applicants in late December. No exact invitation date is confirmed for the 2027 intake. |
| Indigenous pathway: interviews | General guidance describes early January interviews. Confirm the actual 2027 appointment directly with UniSC Buranga Centre. |
| Interview delivery and duration | The Indigenous pathway specifies a panel. Online or in-person delivery, duration and appointment details should be confirmed from the invitation. |

For application deadlines, document submission dates and offer rounds, check the official UniSC course page and QTAC. These are separate from interview arrangements.

### Rural, Regional and Indigenous Access Pathways

### Rural Access Scheme

Priority places are available for applicants who can document rural residence for five consecutive years or ten cumulative years since birth. UniSC currently specifies Modified Monash Model 2023 categories MM2–MM7.

QTAC manages the supporting application process. Use evidence covering your actual primary residence; a holiday property does not establish eligibility. The historical rural ATAR above is not a guaranteed future threshold.

### Regional Health Workforce Scheme

This scheme provides priority places for eligible domestic applicants with five consecutive years or ten cumulative years of residence in the Sunshine Coast, Noosa or Gympie local government areas. Evidence must cover the residence period claimed.

Applicants apply through QTAC and follow the invitation to submit scheme documentation. Selection remains competitive, with optional UCAT results used within ATAR bands. Applicants who qualify may apply for both this scheme and the Rural Access Scheme; UniSC uses a tiered selection approach.

### Indigenous Health Admissions Pathway: Panel Interview

Eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander school leavers may be considered through the Indigenous Health Admissions Pathway. The published Medical Science guideline lists ATAR/rank 99.00; applicants should confirm the applicable intake requirements with Buranga Centre.

- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander when applying through QTAC.
- Provide the required identity evidence, a resume with relevant experience and referees, and a short personal statement.
- Attend a culturally sensitive panel interview involving Buranga Centre and School of Health representatives.
- The interview explores motivation, cultural considerations, social support and academic needs. Academic achievement and interview performance are considered holistically; no fixed percentage weighting is published.

Applicants should follow their individual invitation for the interview location, delivery mode and preparation instructions. The pathway does not create a mature-age entry route into this school-leaver degree.

### Progression from UniSC to Griffith’s Doctor of Medicine

Students must complete the UniSC Bachelor of Medical Science and achieve at least GPA 5.5 to progress under the provisional arrangement. Keep track of the conditions attached to your offer throughout the degree.

Griffith confirms that eligible UniSC Medical Science graduates do not sit GAMSAT or attend its graduate-entry admissions assessment, GUMSAA. The interview rules for applicants competing through general graduate entry should therefore not be applied to this provisional pathway.

The MD takes four years. Completing the UniSC bachelor’s degree alone does not qualify a graduate to practise medicine.

### International Student Eligibility

The UniSC Bachelor of Medical Science is available to domestic applicants only. International applicants should obtain advice about other eligible programs directly from the universities rather than assume this provisional pathway is available.

Do UniSC Medical Science graduates need GAMSAT or another interview for Griffith medicine?Eligible UniSC Bachelor of Medical Science graduates progressing through the provisional pathway do not sit GAMSAT or attend Griffith’s graduate-entry admissions assessment. They must complete their degree, achieve at least GPA 5.5 and satisfy their progression and offer conditions.

     # Notre Dame University - Medicine

**Important**: For detailed and the most current admission guides, please visit the respective university’s website.

Notre Dame has discontinued its **Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Assured Pathway) into the Doctor of Medicine**, which previously allowed school leavers to apply using their Year 12 results, UCAT ANZ and an interview.

For new domestic applicants, **UCAT is no longer part of the Notre Dame medicine pathway**. The former Assured Pathway has been replaced by a **Priority Entry Pathway**, under which students first complete Notre Dame’s Bachelor of Biomedical Science and later apply competitively for the postgraduate Doctor of Medicine using their university GPA, GAMSAT, Casper and an interview.

There is, however, an important exception: Notre Dame’s current official website indicates that the Assured Pathway continues to be offered to eligible **international school leavers**, who must still complete **UCAT ANZ or ISAT.**

The University of Southern Queensland offers a school-leaver pathway into the University of Queensland’s Doctor of Medicine through the Darling Downs – South West Medical Pathway. Students begin at UniSQ in Toowoomba and progress to the UQ MD only after meeting the pathway requirements.

- **UCAT ANZ:** Required for general applicants. Interview shortlisting uses the cognitive aggregate and regional priority tiers.
- **Interview:** Online Multiple Mini Interview (MMI), contributing 50% to the final selection score. First Nations applicants have an additional preliminary interview process.
- **Academic achievement:** Minimum adjusted ATAR 95, with English and Mathematics prerequisites. ATAR contributes 25% to final selection.

## Undergraduate Medicine Pathway at the University of Southern Queensland

University of Southern Queensland undergraduate medicine pathway entry requirements assess academic achievement, UCAT ANZ and MMI performance, together with regional priority tiers. A pathway offer is conditional on meeting the requirements for later progression to UQ’s MD.

### Course name and structure update

UniSQ’s current course page uses Bachelor of Medical Science (Medicine Pathway), replacing the Biomedical Sciences wording in the previous NIE content. The 2027 course-offer guide describes a two-year pre-medicine component and subsequent MD credit towards the bachelor’s award.

Some UQ overview material still uses the older Biomedical Sciences name and degree-completion wording. Applicants should follow the approved rules and offer conditions for their own intake, rather than assume that older three-plus-four-year descriptions apply to the updated structure.

### 1. Academic requirements and prerequisite subjects

The minimum adjusted ATAR is 95 or equivalent. A maximum of five adjustment points can be applied. Meeting the minimum does not guarantee an interview or a place.

Applicants must be completing Year 12 in the year of application on their first attempt. This is not a general pathway for gap-year students or applicants who have already started another degree.

- English prerequisite: an accepted English, Literature, English and Literature Extension, or English as an Additional Language subject, with Units 3 and 4 at grade C or equivalent.
- Mathematics prerequisite: General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics, with Units 3 and 4 at grade C or equivalent.
- Recommended prior study: one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics, with Units 3 and 4 at grade C or equivalent.

Interstate applicants should confirm subject equivalence through UniSQ and QTAC. The degree is full-time, and UniSQ states that deferment is not available.

### 2. UCAT ANZ and interview shortlisting

General applicants must sit UCAT ANZ in the application year. Interview invitations use the aggregate of Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making and Quantitative Reasoning, together with the regional tier system.

Situational Judgement separates applicants with the same cognitive aggregate. If applicants also have the same Situational Judgement result, Verbal Reasoning is the next differentiator.

The cut-off depends on the applicant cohort and available places. UniSQ does not publish a single score that guarantees an MMI invitation across all tiers.

### 3. Medical interview format and assessed qualities

The MMI is conducted online. Applicants work through scenarios and questions designed to assess verbal communication and personal qualities, including kindness, compassion, adaptability and integrity.

UniSQ’s current admissions page does not confirm a fixed station count, reading time, response time or total duration for 2027. An older linked guide describes an earlier station structure; applicants should use their current invitation and briefing for the applicable format.

Interviews take place under controlled conditions, including identity verification and integrity requirements. Check your camera, microphone, internet connection and private interview space before the appointment.

### Final selection weighting

Published UniSQ medicine pathway selection weighting
| Component | Weighting or requirement |
|---|---|
| UCAT ANZ | 25% of final score. |
| ATAR or equivalent | 25% of final score. |
| MMI | 50% of final score. A minimum MMI score must also be met. |
| Regional priority | Eligible applicants are considered by tier, progressing from Tier 1 to successive tiers. |
| Equal final scores | MMI performance is the secondary differentiator. |

The tier system is additional to the weighted score. A higher score does not remove the regional priority arrangements or minimum interview requirement.

  ## UniSQ Medicine Interview Dates for 2027 Entry

The specific 2027 admissions information schedules MMIs for mid-to-late November 2026. UniSQ’s interview information indicates that QTAC sends invitations in mid-to-late October.

Published UniSQ interview invitation and MMI timing
| Stage | Published timing and instructions |
|---|---|
| Interview invitations | Mid-to-late October 2026, following the timing on UniSQ’s MMI information page. No exact release day is published. |
| MMI period | Mid-to-late November 2026, online. Individual days and appointment times are confirmed to shortlisted applicants. |
| Booking and Zoom confirmation | UniSQ states that the Zoom invitation is included in booking confirmation at least two weeks before the appointment. |
| Interview time zone | Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), or Brisbane time. Applicants in daylight-saving states must convert their appointment time. |
| Booking deadline | Follow the booking window in your invitation. No universal public closing day was verified. |
| First Nations preliminary interview | A semi-structured interview precedes the MMI stage. Exact invitation and interview dates were not verified publicly. |

Monitor your QTAC account and email, including junk and spam folders. Contact UniSQ during the booking window if there is a problem; its guidance states that a missed booking is not automatically grounds for special consideration.

Application, supporting-document, UCAT testing and course-offer deadlines should be checked directly through UniSQ, QTAC and UCAT ANZ. The old November 2025 interview dates should not be used for 2027 entry.

  ## Regional Priority and Access Pathways

### Regional priority tiers

UniSQ medicine pathway regional priority tiers
| Tier | Published priority group |
|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Eligible residents of the Darling Downs, South West Queensland or agreed regions in MM2–MM7 areas for five consecutive or ten cumulative years; or applicants who completed Years 11 and 12 in the eligible regional footprint. |
| Tier 2 | Applicants with five consecutive or ten cumulative years in other Queensland regional, rural or remote MM2–MM7 areas. |
| Tier 3 | Applicants with five consecutive or ten cumulative years in regional, rural or remote MM2–MM7 areas outside Queensland. |
| Tier 4 | Remaining applicants. |

Eligibility depends on the university’s agreed geographical footprint and supporting evidence. Check the current map and residence requirements rather than assuming that all nearby postcodes qualify.

### Subject incentive and rural adjustments

Eligible applicants can receive subject adjustments for approved senior-secondary language or Specialist Mathematics study, and specified UniSQ university study completed while at school. Rural adjustments depend on residential history and, for some categories, where Years 11 and 12 were completed.

The combined maximum is five adjustment points. Regional tier status and ATAR adjustments are separate parts of the process; receiving an adjustment does not by itself establish a particular tier.

### First Nations Admission Pathway

First Nations applicants submit their recent school report, resume, personal statement and evidence of heritage under UniSQ’s requirements.

Shortlisted applicants attend a semi-structured interview with a panel led by a nominated First Nations academic. Applicants who progress then participate in the MMIs. Do not assume that general UCAT rules or adjustment schemes apply unchanged to this pathway; confirm individual requirements with UniSQ.

### Bonded Medical Program

A bonded pathway is available for eligible applicants progressing to UQ medicine. It carries return-of-service obligations after medical training. Review the conditions carefully before selecting or accepting a bonded option.

  ## Progression From UniSQ to UQ Medicine

The 2027 UniSQ course-offer guide requires successful completion of the designated 16-unit pre-medicine component within two years, a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.0 and satisfaction of the remaining UQ MD entry requirements.

Students who progress receive credit from successful first-year MD study towards completion of the UniSQ bachelor’s degree. Combined with UQ’s four-year MD, the published structure supports a six-year study sequence, subject to meeting all progression conditions.

If a student does not meet progression requirements or chooses not to enter the MD, UniSQ provides a prescribed third-year bachelor’s completion route. Admission to an ordinary science degree does not confer this conditional medical place.

For the current structure and award rules, consult the [official UniSQ 2027 course-offer guide](https://course-offer-guide.unisq.edu.au/2027/BMSP.html). Confirm cohort-specific requirements with both universities if your offer uses different wording.

The UQ MD component is delivered through the Rural Clinical School in the Darling Downs – South West region. Applicants should be prepared for regional clinical placements and the associated travel requirements.

  ## International and Non-School-Leaver Applicants

This specific UniSQ–UQ pathway is available to domestic applicants only. It is not an international medicine pathway.

The published school-leaver requirements also restrict entry to applicants completing Year 12 on their first attempt in the application year. Applicants outside that category should obtain advice about other pathways rather than assume they can enter this programme through a gap year, prior university study or graduate application.

  ## How to Apply for the UniSQ Medicine Pathway

1. Confirm current Year 12 eligibility, prerequisite subjects and adjusted ATAR requirements.
2. For general selection, sit UCAT ANZ in the application year.
3. Apply through QTAC for the relevant pathway and provide the requested evidence.
4. Monitor QTAC and email for interview invitations, book within the stated window and attend the online MMI.
